Infant Baptisms are for newborns and children up to 6 years of age. If your child is 7 years old or older, please contact the office of Religious Education for special guidelines that need to be followed in order for the child to be baptized: (323) 569-9550.
English baptisms are celebrated once a month at 9:00 am. The next available baptismal and corresponding pre-baptismal class dates are below. The child must be registered at least two weeks prior to the selected baptismal date. Please bring the following to the Parish Office:
A child may have up to two Catholic godparents. If the Godparents are a couple, they must have been married through the Catholic Church. If they are single, they must be practicing Catholics who have received all three sacraments of initiation (Baptism , First Communion, and Confirmation). Parents and Godparents must attend the mandatory pre-baptismal class on the date and time specified. If you do not attend the class, you will not be on the baptismal eligibility list.
One of the requirements for the Sacrament of Baptism is the pre-baptismal class. This mandatory class is a requirement for both parents and godparents and must be completed so that the child may be baptized. If the class is not completed by the parents and/or godparents, we will postpone the baptism.
The pre-baptismal classes are held as follows:
You will be automatically enrolled in the class that corresponds to your baptismal date. If you are unable to attend on your assigned date, please notify the parish office at least two weeks before the date of the baptism so that we may reschedule your class. Otherwise, we will postpone the baptism.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the parish office -
